About Pedro De Bruyckere

Pedro De Bruyckere is an educational scientist at Artevelde University of Applied Sciences in Ghent, where he has worked since 2001, and since 2022 he has also been a researcher at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. He has co-authored several books in Dutch that debunk popular myths about Generation Y and Z, education and pop culture. Pedro is a frequently invited public speaker, known for his ability to explain complex ideas with humour. In 2015, Urban Myths about Learning and Education was published worldwide by Academic Press. The book became a bestseller and was listed by The Guardian as one of the ten books every educator should read. It has since been translated into Swedish, Turkish, Spanish and Chinese. Given the continued spread of misconceptions in education, the follow-up book, More Urban Myths about Learning and Education, was published in 2019.
